Jonah Kohn, the winner of the Google Science Fair, invented a device where deaf people can hear music through the touch of their fingers. At only fourteen, his device can transmit sound to the part of the body it’s in contact with, rather than through sound waves.
The Google Science Fair accepts participants interested in science, technology, medicine, or environment, ranging from age of thirteen to eighteen years old.
Like Jonah, many young teens can make an impact on the world. By practicing guitar for five years, Jonah was able to figure out how vibrations work through his own experience with it, and with the help of some experts, he was able to put his device all together.
