Robert Dawson was hit with the entrepreneurship bug at an early age.  As a graduate student at the University of PEI, the owner of Top Search Result, and at just 25 years old, Dawson has been named 2011 Student Entrepreneur Prince Edward Island Champion by Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE).

Coming from a long history of entrepreneurs in his family, Dawson has it in his blood.  When he was around the age of 7, he had his first real shot at owning his own business – a lemonade stand.  Along with setting up a lemonade stand at the end of his driveway, he also recalls doing various odd jobs for his parents such as mowing the lawn to earn money.

In 2008, Dawson started his own online marketing company that aims to provide small businesses with the tools they need to succeed in search engine marketing.  Top Search Result offers consulting in three specific areas: search engine marketing, search engine optimization and social network marketing.  The company specializes in ensuring that companies are receiving exposure on search engines such as Google or on social networking web sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Top Search Result currently receives 100,000 unique visitors to the site on a yearly basis.  Dawson says that it is his unique experience that makes Top Search Result stand out above other online marketing companies.

“My involvement in variety of industries such as asphalt paving, environmental services, and real estate has given me a better perspective of what companies require,” says Dawson.

It is his experience that has led him to make superior accomplishments such as earning enough income to pay off tuition fees, hiring an intern for his company, adding clients from across Canada to his roster, and being designated as a ‘Google Adwords Qualified Professional’.

Dawson says that he loves everything about being his own boss.  “The capability to be innovative is really a selling point for me.  Every day is different.  You don’t get bored.”

For young and aspiring entrepreneurs, Dawson passes on these wise words of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius, “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”  He says that it’s these words that he lives by to get him through the rough days.

Dawson is excited about moving on to the next round of the competition which will be held by ACE Canada, a charitable organization, and program supporter, CIBC.   The 2011 ACE Regional Exposition will be held in Halifax on March 11.

“I am extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to represent the Island at the regional round of competition in Halifax”, commented Dawson.  “I am looking forward to meeting other Atlantic Canadian student entrepreneurs and receiving constructive feedback from the judges.”

The World’s Most Expensive Starbucks Beverage

Time to invest in that Tassimo. Starbucks has been regarded as one of the most expensive coffee shops for years. For a quadriginoctuple frappuccino, with 48 shots, in a 52 oz cup, added with soy and protein powder and mango (oh my!) and more, the most possible expensive drink at Starbucks totals to $47.30. That’s like…23 regular coffees! I wonder how it tastes. Image provided by Business Insider Sourced: Beauch Curated: Online Editor Aryssah Stankevitsch @stnkvtsch
