Secrets of the Forbidden City

Sourced from humanrestore.com

For almost five centuries, Beijing’s Forbidden City served as the Chinese imperial residence and center of government. The Forbidden City was the home of 24 Chinese emperors from 1420 to 1912.

For centuries access was denied to all but the emperor’s family and his most senior officials and servants. From 1931 to the end of World War II it fell into disrepair. Renovations began in the 1950s and it is now recognised as a World Heritage site.
