Is Sugar as Addictive as Tobacco?

Whatever the truth of the matter, researchers strongly recommend that public health officials educate the general public as much as possible about the dangers of the soda industry’s products, just as they did with tobacco.

In the end, it seems education, rather than anything along the lines of Mayor Bloomberg’s restrictive proposed soda bans, are the key to modifying lifestyles. After all, as Bloomberg admits, everything is usually acceptable in moderation.

Such a belief supports the notion that the well informed individual is at the helm of his or her respective destiny, health wise.

In other words, the realization of a healthy lifestyle is not dependent upon the quantity of healthy or unhealthy ingredients available to the consumer; rather, good health is the result of the consumer making appropriate choices.
